Art to the Avenue Sponsored by the Greenwich Arts Council info@greenwicharts.org www.greenwicharts.org The Greenwich Arts Council (GAC) sponsors Art to the Avenue each May. It’s a signature program where artists’ works get placed in shops and stores throughout Greenwich for the month, and Greenwich Avenue becomes a strolling art gallery. The GAC is located at 299 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT with offices, classrooms, program and performance spaces (with additional programming off site). The GAC hosts the Bendheim Gallery, which mounts major exhibitions including local, established and emerging artists.  Artists can join and there is no jurying for membership.

I was so please to be included in this years Art to the Avenue and be selected to show at Coach. The May 3rd reception was a happening, and was attended by several hundred people, including area residents, patrons and artists. Greenwich Avenue was filled to the brim with children and adults walking from shop to shop and stopping to look at the art. The response to my work (titled Silence 1, seen above) was huge. It was purchased the day after the opening reception. I like to get up to Greenwich for the Bendheim Gallery openings and especially like to attend the music performances.
