The New Echo Series includes recent works with acrylic paint, drawing and collage on paper, canvas, and panel. Ultramarine Blue and a Green Yellow are Nikkal’s new happy colors. Every collage is a painting with loopy lines, dots and half circles.
The artist says the Echo Series is a statement about too much media – an echo chamber – probably a personal reaction to the bad news about Covid over the past few years. Making art creates order from disorder. Painting, selecting and putting papers together creates a new conversation.
